Falling

Do you know what it's like

to be at the top of Mt. Sinai,

obeying the Commandments

and then trip on a rock

and fall

            falling

                        falling

into the chaos of darkness

the Devil taking over your life

the ground getting closer and closer

until you hit it and you wake up

to your sins?

Do you know what it's like

to be so close to reaching a star

and then have someone hurt you

making you fall

            falling

                        falling

into the chaos of depression,

tears taking over your life?

Do you know what it's like

to love somebody so much

that you'd give the world to them

and then they die

and you fall

            falling

                        falling

onto your knees as you cry out for them

asking God, "Why, why them?"

and you never understand?

Do you know that everybody

goes through struggles in life?

Do you know that everybody

knows what pain is?

Do you know that you're not the only one?
